Brachioplasty


Indications: Sagging and loose skin of the upper arms, due to significant weight loss, age, or heredity.


Surgery:  The surgery is performed at an ambulatory surgery center. It is outpatient surgery and takes 2.5-4 hours to perform. It can be performed at the time of other surgical procedures on the body. This procedure requires a stocking seam incision to be most effective.

Post Operative:  Patients are placed in a sleeved compression garment that they will wear for a designated time, Showering is permitted the following day, unless prohibited by other procedures that were performed. Exercise is restricted until 4-6 weeks after surgery.  Mild pain medication is prescribed.
